Good Deal

A really good deal on Hip2Save today. Gabe Crocs only $6.45 shipped. I bought the next two sizes for Beatrice. Girl loves her some Crocs. We just battled yesterday about her not wearing them out of the house. She still thinks it's July.

Coupla Things

The Heating Fiasco of 2010 is coming to a close. The plumbers are putting the finishing touches on our new boiler and water heater. I had to write a check with a lot of numbers... it was hard to fit the written out words in the line provided. And not to worry, the irony is not lost on me that this week's temps are in the 70s. We won't even need to turn the heat on.

On a completely unrelated note, Hip2Save advertised this really good Old Navy deal (note that its today ONLY.) Just got a new puffy winter coat for $40 (including shipping.)

Happy Earth Day 2010

In honor of Earth Day, Hip2Save posted some great deals. I will be taking advantage of the Origins deal. I LOVE their Checks and Balances face wash .

Off to finish up packing, getting an oil change, baby appointment, library stop, etc. before we head on vacation. And oh ya, I'll need to get some work done too.

Something Old, Something New (To Me)

I love thrift stores and consignment shops. In the past those haven't been the easiest to come by out here in the suburbs. Last year, after years of walking past Linda's Encore, I finally went in and was pleasantly surprised to find some great clothes. I got this vintage sparkle-tastic blazer there. My sister lovingly calls it the Delta Burke blazer (only $15).

Last night, I drove through our town center to find an Open sign blowing in the wind outside another consignment shop called All Together Now (no website yet). This one is much cooler than Linda's Encore with lots of kitsch, records, posters, old books. The owner is quite the character. I was over-hearing her speaking with another customer about some stuff she had out back... a case of 30 year old whiskey and 40 year old champagne. I think some stuff falls off the back of trucks but I'm not asking any questions. I need to befriend her so I can get my hands on that booze. I ended up leaving with a vintage copy of Alice in Wonderland (only $8). I should have bought a couple more items but I convinced myself "I don't really need them." So of course, I'll be going back for them today.

I hope both of these stores stay around and stay hidden gems. I love the idea of buying things with history.

FREE Photo Book for the Month of March

Hot Prints is offering a free photobook deal this month. (Thanks to Hip2Save for posting the deal.) I haven't tried to make one yet. I read through the comments at Hip2Save and someone said that it takes a while to upload photos but that uploading through Facebook took considerably less time. Good luck!
