Storm Chasers

There was an "Act of God" here yesterday. We were minding our own business on a lazy Sunday afternoon when all of a sudden a rainstorm swept through town. The skies darkened and thunder and lightning moved in. Before we knew it, the wind was whipping and we were scrambling to close windows and draw blinds closed. Just as I was getting everyone ready for the basement tornado shelter we heard "CRASH, BOOM, BAM."

That's our kitchen side door. Our neigbor's massive tree branch came down our circa 1982 awning. Luckily there wasn't much damage beyond the awning. The branches somehow managed to avoid crashing down on our car, parked a couple of feet from the door. Pretty lucky!
Never a dull moment in these parts.

  1. OMG...So glad you guys are ok. Can you imagine if you happened to be walking out of the door at the same time?! Someone was looking over the Chase household - phew!
