The Monthly Give- April 2010

This month's give is the Power of a Purse Mother's Day Campaign. It is designed to raise awareness of mothers' economic issues through the act of collecting new or gently used purses for mothers in need. The purse symbolizes a woman's economic power, something we wish for all women, especially mothers in need. No matter where a mother is on the social ladder, there is "power in her purse" having money of her own to control, to buy things and provide for herself and her children. It is symbolic of independence and empowerment---not to mention "fun". Your donated purses will be distributed to: Dress for Success, A Suitable Image, A Place to Turn and Natick Service Council, just in time for Mothers Day.

I plan on delivering the purses on April 22nd so you can get them to me by then or you can drop them off at the collection boxes at Framingham Public Library (Main Branch) or the Natick Library. Collections run through April 30.
